Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office indicted former Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili for failing to comply with a lawful request to appear before the Parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission.

The investigation, initiated under Article 349, was prompted by an appeal from the Commission’s Chairperson, Tea Tsulukiani after Okruashvili declined to attend the session.

“No one has the moral right to participate in that farcical commission while dozens of young people, including Mzia Amaglobeli, remain imprisoned. There is no genuine commission - just as there is no functioning parliament in Georgia. Since childhood, I was taught that today even birds don’t build nests, but it seems that in this building and in the government in general, they work with a different calendar. This rule is unfamiliar to them, and they quickly filed charges against me. I hope, unlike Badri Japaridze and Mamuka Khazaradze, they will give me a small discount”, -said Irakli Okruashvili.
