The Mayor of Tbilisi said the recent meeting between the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine had further clarified who the individuals were that were seeking to open a second front in Georgia amid the war in Ukraine.

"Following the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump, it has become even more evident who the forces and individuals - both domestically and abroad - were that wanted war, a 2nd front in our country.

They wanted to see the country economically devastated, to join sanctions, which, of course, would have directly led to economic collapse. Some had this desire, but through prudent policies, despite facing insults, criticism, defamation, and direct threats, we stood with our people and took steps that were crucial for the security and economic development of our nation. Clearly, peace has no alternative.

There are external forces that directly instruct these radical elements on how to act, what statements to make, what their primary goals and motivations should be, and how to harm the country and its peace. Everything we have seen and continue to see has been orchestrated from the outside, with direct orders given and enormous funds spent on these activities. However, the majority of citizens stood where our country and its future needed them to be", - said Kakha Kaladze.
