Gudauri hosts the Ski Cross World Cup stages on February 28 and March 1, attracting top athletes from around the world.
The event, organized under the International Ski Federation (FIS), marks a significant moment for Georgia’s winter sports scene, further establishing Gudauri as a premier destination for international skiing competitions.
A total of 97 competitors from 14 countries - including the US, Canada, Great Britain, Austria, Chile, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic, and Georgia - participate in the international event.
Hosting the World Cup stages is part of Georgia’s broader efforts to promote winter tourism, position itself as a key player in the global skiing community. Local officials emphasized importance of such events in boosting the country’s reputation as a top-tier winter sports hub. Following the ski cross competition, Snowboard Cross World Cup is scheduled in Gudauri on March 8-9.
