The Prime Minister of Georgia claimed the National Endowment for Democracy had funded "harmful activities" in the country, and emphasised reducing foreign funding used in the alleged manner would be "beneficial for the country".

“Foreign funding should not be used to support revolutionary actions or propaganda in specific directions, which NED financing had been used for… The NED has funded very serious activities in our country, including anti-state actions. The less funding there is in this regard, the better it is for our country and our state.

It is unacceptable for foreign sources to fund revolutionary actions or propaganda. This is exactly what the NED`s funding has been serving, and it is crucial that such financing is restricted", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
