The January 2025 Report by the National Statistics Office shows that foreign trade is up 39.3%, a considerable growth for our country. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“As for the economy, we have excellent employment statistics. The National Statistics Office of Georgia has summarized data for the last year’s fourth quarter. Thus, the number of employed citizens has increased by 20,100 year-on-year, reaching 978,500. As for self-employment rates, they are up 19,700 to make up 433,500. The unemployment rate dropped in the same period by 14,700 people. Overall, we have had an excellent growth over the past three years.
The number of employed citizens has reached 1,412,500, a record-breaking statistic in the history of independent Georgia.
Also, the number of employed citizens has grown by 195,000 over the past three years alone. Thus, our ambitious goal to create 200,000 new jobs in the course of the next four years is absolutely feasible. And creating new jobs will be one of the key priorities of the Government’s work.
We have equally excellent foreign trade statistics as well. The January 2025 Report by the National Statistics Office shows that foreign trade is up 39.3%, a considerable growth for our country. As for economic growth, the relevant statistics for January have yet to be specified and published. However, preliminary assessments allow for asserting that economic growth will be very close to double digits”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
