Georgian team doctor Zurab Kakhabrishvili saves Tunisian wrestler at World Judo Juniors Championships

Zurab Kakhabrishvili, the Georgian judo team doctor, saved the life of Chaima Sidaoui, a teenage wrestler from Tunisia, at the ongoing World Judo Juniors Championships in Ecuador.

According to the Georgian Sports Medicine Association, Sidaoui had lost consciousness after a challenge by her opponent, Pihla Salonen [Finland], in round one of the -52kg weight category of the competition.

Noticing the Tunisian athlete required assistance, the referee first called the medical personnel of the tournament. The situation only recovered after Zurab Kakhabrishvili rushed to the scene and provided the closed chest cardiac massage.
