Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili, along with Koba Kobaladze, Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, and Mustafa Türker Arı, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia, delivered agricultural machinery to veteran farmers residing in the Imereti region.

A total of 20 hand-held tractors were provided to veteran farmers with the support of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) and the State Service of Veterans Affairs.

Minister Songulashvili thanked the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye and TİKA for their support for veteran farmers, noting that similar projects represent yet another example of fruitful cooperation between the two countries.

“Today’s event once again underscores the government’s continued commitment to supporting our veteran farmers and recognizing their contribution and service to the country. The state pays special attention to agricultural development and supports farmers, particularly small and medium-sized farmers. As part of this support, ensuring access to modern agricultural machinery is essential. All of these efforts, of course, contribute to the country’s economy and promote the development of the agricultural sector”, - said David Songulashvili.

The provision of agricultural machinery is intended to support veteran farmers in their agricultural activities and enhance their capacity to develop their farming operations.

The partnership between the State Service of Veterans Affairs and the TİKA began in 2017. Since then, with the support of the Turkish side, several important projects have been implemented for veterans, including initiatives related to agriculture and healthcare.
