IPRM meeting is underway in Ergneti

Another meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) has begun in Ergneti. The parties will discuss recent developments along the occupation line.

The Georgian side will raise issues concerning human rights violations, the release of illegally detained individuals, and illegal borderization at the meeting. During the reporting period, no new cases of illegal detention of citizens occurred along the occupation line, while two instances of illegal borderization were recorded. Ten citizens of Georgia remain in illegal detention in the Tskhinvali prison.

As stated by Irakli Antadze, Deputy Director of the Information and Analytical Department of the State Security Service, the unconditional release of all illegally detained individuals will be strictly demanded at the meeting.

“No illegal detentions took place during the period between the meetings; however, as you know, our citizens remain in illegal detention in occupied Tskhinvali to this day. Their number stands at 10, and at today’s meeting, the unconditional release of all individuals in illegal detention will once again be strictly demanded. Additionally, there will be an active discussion scheme at today’s meeting regarding Ms. Tamar, who demands only one thing - the right to return to her home”, - said Irakli Antadze.
