Lasha Avaliani attends opening of grain storage facility in Kanda

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Avaliani, attended the opening event of a grain storage facility operated by Invet Group in the village of Kanda, Mtskheta Municipality.

The newly opened facility, with a storage capacity of 11,000 tonnes, is equipped with high-tech grain silos, enabling continuous monitoring of storage conditions and preserving product quality.

Advanced humidity and temperature control systems maintain optimal storage conditions, preserving grain quality and minimizing post-harvest losses.

"Developing modern storage infrastructure is one of the key priorities in agriculture. Proper storage of harvested crops is directly linked to maintaining product quality and reducing agricultural losses. Moreover, the private sector is adopting modern technologies and investing in infrastructure development.

The purpose of state support is to facilitate precisely these kinds of initiatives, so that production capacity in the agricultural sector can expand and businesses can focus on long-term development", - said Lasha Avaliani.

The project was implemented under the Preferential Agrocredit Programme, with total investment of GEL 4.4 million, including GEL 1.5 million in preferential agrocredit and GEL 364,818 in state co-financing.

LLC Invent Feed is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency and has been participating in state support programmes since 2015.

Under the Preferential Agrocredit Programme, agricultural loans totalling GEL 939 million have been issued nationwide to support the development of storage facilities, while the Rural Development Agency`s co-financing has exceeded GEL 169 million.
