As part of a joint operation, a particularly large amount of narcotic and psychotropic substances was detected in “Sarpi” and “Kutaisi Airport”

As a result of a joint operation, customs officers at the customs checkpoints of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance - “Sarpi” and “Kutaisi Airport” - together with officers of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, prevented the facts of an attempt to import a particularly large amount of narcotic and psychotropic medicines.

Customs officers, as a result of a detailed inspection of a vehicle driven by a Georgian citizen entering from Turkey, discovered 247 hidden Suboxone pills.

Also, as a result of a physical examination of a Georgian citizen at Kutaisi Airport by a customs officer, based on suspicion, 169 capsules of various narcotic and psychotropic drugs were found hidden on his body.

The case materials were transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for further response.
