The Government of Georgia announced that Tbilisi municipal transport would serve passengers free of charge on Saturday and Sunday [March 21-22] in connection with the funeral of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

Additional free transportation will also be arranged for citizens traveling from various regions to Tbilisi to attend the funeral.

The decision was made by a special state Commission established in relation to the funeral. The Commission also ruled that passengers will be served free of charge by Georgian Railway.

Extra trips will be scheduled across both road and railway transport to accommodate increased passenger demand during this period.
