In January 2026, the volume of exports increased by 19% and amounted to 480 million USD. As for the local export figure, it grew by 68%, reaching 313 million USD.

According to Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, this growth and volume of exports further confirm that the production of local goods in Georgia is expanding and remains competitive on the global stage.

As he noted, this trend is supported by the correct and consistent policy implemented by the Government of Georgia towards business support, particularly in terms of increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Vakhtang Tsintsadze also evaluated that the existing free trade agreements that Georgia holds contribute significantly to this trend: "We expect that the positive trends in exports will continue and will be reflected in economic growth figures. Accordingly, we have positive expectations for both economic growth in 2026 and other macroeconomic parameters".
