Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia concluded a plea agreement with Giorgi Bachiaishvili, the former Head of the Co-Investment Fund, after he fully admitted guilt in all criminal cases, cooperated with investigators, and compensated for the damage, resulting in a suspended sentence and a fine.
“Giorgi Bachiashvili fully admitted to all the crimes in every criminal case, cooperated completely with the investigation, and compensated for the damage, for which a plea deal was arranged, resulting in a suspended sentence and a fine”, - says the agency.
As it known, Bachiashvili had previously been sentenced to 11 years in prison in the case concerning the misappropriation of cryptocurrency belonging to Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of the Georgian Dream.
He was also convicted of illegally crossing the state border and was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment for that offence. Besides, in proceedings related to the Mtkvari HPP case, Bachiashvili has been charged under Article 220¹, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
