Georgia has adopted constitutional amendments that fully prohibit the transfer of agricultural land ownership to foreign citizens. The Prime Minister said this during an address in Parliament under the interpellation procedure.

“There were statements suggesting that we are selling land to foreigners.

I want to remind everyone that we adopted constitutional amendments that completely banned the alienation of agricultural land to foreigners. We are working very clearly and transparently. Open bids are announced for everything, and it is on the basis of bids that land is sold. As for agricultural land, we would like to remind you once again that the Constitution restricts the alienation of this land to foreigners”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
