During the annual foreign policy debate in Latvia`s parliament, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže clarified Latvia`s position on the EU migration pact.
She stated that Latvia will not accept new migrants under the EU migration pact and will also refuse to pay any EU fines for doing so.
Under the EU migration pact, countries are technically obliged to take in migrants relocated from other EU member states or make a "financial contribution" of EUR 20,000 for each migrant they do not want to take.
