Temporary detention center has been fully equipped with fingerprint scanners

The temporary detention center has been fully equipped with fingerprint scanners – the Forensic-Criminalistics Department has handed over 12 additional scanners to the detention center administration.

The mentioned equipment is designated for the immediate fingerprinting of a person admitted to the detention center and the placement of handprint samples in the unified database of the Forensic-Criminalistics Department.

In addition, the Forensic-Criminalistics Department’s appropriately qualified employees have also provided full training to the temporary detention center employees in this regard.

For creating fingerprint databases and their identification, the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched the AFIS “DACTO 2000” automatic search and identification system, which allows improving the quality of the investigation and increasing its efficiency.

The goal of the renovation of the police infrastructure is to increase the efficiency of police activities and improve the work conditions of police officers. The Ministry will continue the projects of renovation and improvement of the police infrastructure and equipment in the future as well.
