The trial of former Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze, his deputy Giorgi Khaindrava, former head of the ministry’s procurement department Vladimer Gudushauri, and Burchuladze’s relative Vasil Mkheidze is underway in the Tbilisi City Court.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled today to review the preventive measure. The admissibility of evidence will be discussed.

Juansher Burchuladze is accused of abuse of official authority and legalization of illegal income, which carries a prison sentence of 9 to 12 years.
