As a result of an operation conducted by customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance at the customs checkpoint “Tbilisi Airport” together with employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, a particularly large amount of narcotics was discovered at Tbilisi International Airport - more than 760 grams of „MDMA“, 762 grams of “Clephedrone” and more than half a kilogram of the psychotropic substance „Ketamine“.
As a result of the X-ray inspection of the luggage of a foreign citizen by a customs officer, suspicious contents were discovered, after which the authorized person marked the luggage with a special red adhesive sticker and subjected it to an additional physical inspection.
The offending citizen had secretly placed narcotics in airtight jars intended for baby food in his travel bag. The case materials were transferred to the relevant department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for further response.
The Revenue Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in a coordinated manner, constantly carry out the strictest monitoring of customs borders, and control in this direction will continue in the future.
