Giga Melia has been appointed as Head of Regional Projects Coordination Service of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti State Governor`s Administration.

Melia has many years of experience working in state structures. He has been working as Head of the Supervision Service of Zugdidi City Hall since 2019. Before that, Giga Melia was Head of the Inspection Department of the Internal Audit and Inspection Service of Zugdidi City Hall, and also worked as the Chief Specialist of the Monitoring Department of the Supervision Service. In 2015-2017, Melia held the position of Head of the Social Department of the Georgian Renewable Energy Association.

He has been a visiting lecturer at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Pedagogical University since 2017.

Giga Melia received his education at the Georgian Technical University, holds a Bachelor`s degree from the Faculty of Energy and Telecommunications, a Master`s degree in energy management, and a Doctoral candidate in innovation and operations management.
