Despite global uncertainties and regional geopolitical tensions, Georgia remains a steadfast anchor of peace and stability. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this during his keynote speech at the investment panel on Georgia being a Nexus For Investments, held within the framework of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.
"With leadership based on a clear vision for long-term peace and sustainable progress, the country continues steadily along a path of development - maintaining macroeconomic stability, achieving impressive growth and demonstrating exceptional economic resilience. These achievements directly reflect the government`s vision and strategy: that peace creates predictability and predictability, in turn, lays the foundation for sustainable economic growth.
From 2021 to 2024, our country recorded one of the highest economic growth rates globally, with an average annual rate of 9.4%. Georgia remains on a strong growth trajectory, with 7.2% growth expected in 2025 and medium-term growth averaging 5.1% over the next 5 years, according to the International Monetary Fund.
This performance is based on sound macroeconomic management and comprehensive structural reforms that ensure both stability and competitiveness. Our reform path is focused on disciplined, predictable and measurable results, which promote continuity of investment and investor confidence. As a result, Georgia remains an attractive investment destination and its legal, business and investment environment consistently receives high ratings from leading international rating agencies", - added Irakli Kobakhidze.
He also highlighted Georgia`s leading positions in the World Bank`s B-READY index and the Open Budget Survey`s rankings on state budget transparency.
"Georgia has one of the most attractive investment environments in the region. With business-friendly reforms, reliable policies and strong institutions, the country ensures smooth business operations through a liberal trade regime, minimal bureaucracy and efficient customs services.
Thanks to this effort, Georgia ranked among the top ten countries globally in the trade component of the World Bank`s Business Ready (B-READY) Index.
Through free trade agreements with the European Union, China, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), CIS countries, Turkey and others, Georgia provides access to markets of over 2.3 billion consumers without tariffs. Our foreign direct investment (FDI) landscape is diverse and stable, encompassing key sectors such as financial services, energy, manufacturing, real estate and trade. Reflecting this achievement, Georgia ranks 4th among 120 countries in terms of investment attractiveness, according to the Good Governance Index published by the Chandler Institute.
This diversification, along with Georgia`s strategic location and ongoing infrastructure projects, positions the country as a regional hub for investment, connectivity and sustainable growth", - noted Irakli Kobakhidze.
