The municipal elections have concluded, and the results from all polling stations (3,061 in total) have been counted, detailed information is available on the CEC’s official website at results.cec.gov.ge. Such a statement made the Spokesperson of Central Election Commission, Natia Ioseliani.
“As demonstrated by yesterday’s events, for the second time - this time in the municipal elections - the large-scale use of electronic technologies was successfully implemented.
The election administration was able to announce the preliminary results just one hour and twenty-five minutes after the closing of the polls. It is noteworthy that the electoral process at the technologically equipped polling stations proceeded without interruption, and at none of the stations was it necessary to continue voting using the traditional method.
I would like to express my gratitude to each member of the election administration for their dedicated work, their contribution to the process of election modernization, and the high level of professionalism demonstrated in the administration of the elections.
I would also like to provide information regarding the complaints received. As of now, a total of 25 complaints have been submitted to the district election commissions. The complaints primarily concern violations of the rules on photo and video recording, the arrangement of polling premises, voter registration outside polling stations, and other related issues. Detailed information on the complaints is available in the appeals registry on our official website.
We also remind you that, within the timeframe prescribed by law, in each electoral district, a recount will be conducted in five polling stations randomly selected from those within the district’s territory - covering both technological and traditional polling stations.
We now present the proportional results for the capital city, as well as the preliminary results of the mayoral elections in Tbilisi and other self-governing cities”, - said Natia Ioseliani.
