As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, exposed one person on the fact of transportation of particularly large amount of goods through the customs border of Georgia, in violation of the customs regulations.

Investigation determined that a passenger vehicle was traveling from Georgia to the Russian Federation through the customs checkpoint „Kazbegi“, and various brands of veterinary medicines were detected within its specially arranged hiding places.

The total value of the goods, seized as a result of the investigative activities, exceeds GEL 36 000.

Investigation is underway under the Article 19 and part II of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type and extent of sentence, envisage imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
