As a result of investigative activities carried out by employees of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was detained on the fact of storing a particularly large quantity of excisable goods subject to mandatory marking without excise marks.

A total of 4,930 boxes of non-excise cigarettes of various brands were seized from the accused person’s residential house. The total market value of the seized products amounts to GEL 27,608.

Investigation is underway under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
