In Strasbourg, the European and Georgian flags were flown at half-mast outside the Palace of Europe.
The decision was made by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, as a mark of respect for the late Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
Ilia II passed away on March 17 at the age of 93. He will be laid to rest in the Sioni Cathedral on March 22.
