The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has issued an official statement addressing recent misinformation.

"The Revenue Service responds to another disinformation campaign propagated by certain media outlets, opposition representatives regarding alleged `blocking` of Armenian cargoes, including gas products, in Georgia. We categorically refute these claims as false, noting that they aim to mislead the public, discredit our agency, and politicise the issue.

Amid increased cargo traffic, all customs procedures for sanitary vehicles engaged in international transportation are being conducted efficiently and in a manner that ensures smooth passage.

Additionally, customs officers at all checkpoints across Georgia are fully prepared, operating around the clock to swiftly process both individual travellers and light, passenger, and freight vehicles.

The media materials depicting vehicles loaded with gas products do not reflect the actual situation at customs checkpoints. At the Kazbegi Customs Point, any brief delays experienced by trucks were minimal and have since been resolved.

In 2024 alone, customs formalities were completed for 364,670 trucks travelling in both directions through the Kazbegi checkpoint. We continue to monitor customs control procedures. We also reiterate our call for responsible information sharing and urge everyone to refrain from spreading unverified or false reports", - reads the statement.
