Trial into alleged murder of Georgian citizen Zelimkhan Khangoshvili by resumes in Germany

A trial into the high-profile murder case of Georgian citizen Zelimkhan Khangoshvili resumes in Berlin.

Germany has accused Russia of ordering the murder of the former Chechen rebel Khangoshvili in Berlin back in 2019.

The 40-year-old man was shot dead in August 2019 in Berlin’s Kleiner Tiergarten park.

A Russian national identified as Vadim Krasikov has been charged with the murder.

In December 2019 Germany expelled two Russian diplomats due to the case, with Russia responding by expelling two German diplomats.
