Special Penitentiary Service officers thwart attempt to smuggle drugs into priso

Employees of the External Security and Information Technology Department of the Special Penitentiary Service thwarted an attempt to introduce narcotics into the 17th penitentiary facility.

"A family member of one of the convicts, who was entering the facility for a visit, has been exposed in the alleged crime", - reads the statement of the Special Penitentiary Service.

The case has been handed over to the relevant investigative agency for further response.
