Diplomatic relations have been established between Georgia and the Republic of Nauru (Naoero). The corresponding document was signed by Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia and David Adeang, President of the Republic of Nauru.

At the meeting held in New York, Prime Minister of Georgia once again thanked the President of the Republic of Nauru for revoking diplomatic relations with the occupied territories of Georgia and noted that this decision underscores once again that adherence to the principles of international law is the foundation of stable and responsible international relations.

The discussion touched upon cooperation in multilateral formats, including within the framework of international organizations. The parties also discussed prospects for deepening partnership and people-to-people ties in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations David Bakradze.
