83 in favor, 0 against – within the framework of the plenary session in Parliament, MPs supported the election of Tamaz Borashvili to the position of Head of the State Security Service [SSSG].

Prior to the plenary session, Borashvili had already been heard at the meeting of the Defense and Security Committee. He spoke at length about the primary challenges and priorities of the agency.

The Head of the State Security Service is elected for a 6-year term of office.
