Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, responded to the European Union`s decision to sanction Russian energy firm "Inter RAO" as part of its 21st sanctions package against Russia.

"This is yet another example of the United National Movement`s [UNM] criminal governance. When they handed over strategic infrastructure assets to the occupier, they knew full well the scale of the ticking time bombs and dangers they were creating. These time bombs go off periodically.

In this instance, the sanctioning of Inter RAO is an issue the state is handling with scrutiny. I am confident that, as in previous cases, we will shield the public from these risks.

The UNM and their media outlets have absolutely no moral authority to speak on this subject or to pretend they are worried about the risks facing our citizens due to the Inter RAO sanctions. This entire situation reveals that they are secretly thrilled by the prospect of another act of sabotage against the public.

Back when they handed strategic assets over to the occupier, they fully defended it, and now they are delighted at the thought of power supply issues arising from these sanctions. I assure you that the state will safeguard the interests of both the country and its citizens", - said Nino Tsilosani.
