The influence of the "Deep State" [DS] on the ongoing processes in Georgia is easily determined even by a superficial analysis of specific events; let me remind you that when Georgia was ruled by a foreign agency – the United National Movement regime - Western institutions referred to it as a "beacon of democracy" and spared no praise for it. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
As he noted, considering the circumstance that the majority of EU ambassadors represent the "DS" rather than their own countries and people, such actions of "diplomats" are easily explained.
"When Georgia was ruled by a foreign agency – the UNM regime – Georgia`s statehood was dismantled, which manifested itself in many systemic problems.
Harsh authoritarianism, systemic and gross violations of human rights, rigged elections, prisons overflowing with illegal prisoners, judicial and law enforcement structures turned into punitive instruments, monopolized media, business racket, a war started by external order and lost in two days - this is only an incomplete list of the problems that the authoritarian rule of the "DS" agency created for Georgia.
Here I would also like to remind you that Western institutions operating under the influence of the "DS" referred to the regime that created all this as a "beacon of democracy" and spared no praise for it… We all remember May 26, 2011, when the UNM regime surrounded peaceful protesters and, without giving them even a chance to leave, ruthlessly dispersed them, while killing several demonstrators. Back then, the Western bureaucracy did not respond to these and other heinous acts of the government with resolutions, or even with a single critical statement.
Moreover, the then Ambassador of France even went so far as to justify the regime. Given the circumstance that the majority of EU ambassadors represent the "DS" rather than their own countries and people, such actions of "diplomats" are easily explained", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
