“Georgia deserves better” is a completely toothless and inadequate slogan! It implies that in principle, everything is more or less fine, but it could be better. The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, writes on his Facebook page.

“We must therefore speak here not of “better”, but of Georgia’s survival and the restoration of its historical greatness.

I find polished, pseudo-democratic rhetoric entirely unacceptable. We need to grasp our historical mission to achieve victory, and advance towards it with bold and resolute steps.

“We will gather in greater numbers come autumn” is a deeply damaging plan, at a time when not a single day can be lost in the matter of Georgia’s survival. I wish to appeal to all those who think as I do: let us unite and act”, - writes Mikheil Saakashvili.
