Representatives of the US Department of State visited the Georgian Patriarchate. The guests were hosted by Patriarch Shio III.

The delegation members congratulated Head of the Georgian Church on his enthronement as Patriarch. The meeting focused on relations between the US and Georgia.

Representatives of the State Department and the Acting Ambassador of the US to Georgia were present at the Patriarchate.

"The conversation was held on various issues that unite us, Georgia and the United States. It was noted that these relations have the potential to deepen even further. Overall, the meeting was both businesslike and very warm - giving hope that in the near future it will be possible to move relations to another stage", - said Archpriest, Head of the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate, Andria (Jaghmaidze).
