Officers of the Patrol Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Departments have arrested 6 people at various times on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of large quantities of narcotic drugs.

Among the detainees are both persons with previous convictions and foreign citizens.

During the personal search and search activities held in residential homes of the accused persons, law enforcement officers also seized large quantities of narcotic drugs prepared for sale as evidence from the places indicated by them.

During a search of the residence of one of the detainees, law enforcement officers seized a firearm and cartridges as well.

As a result of the investigative actions conducted, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics and cash allegedly obtained from the sale of narcotics. The investigation is underway under Articles 236, 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
