By Government decision, a higher educational institution - the Diplomacy Academy of Georgia - is being established. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"First of all, I would like to note that, unfortunately, the relevant faculties of both state and private universities today are essentially unable to adequately provide future diplomats with the necessary knowledge and skills.

The Diplomacy Academy of Georgia will produce highly-qualified personnel for the diplomatic service. Institutional subordination will help the academy ensure a high standard of teaching and research.

As you well know, several higher educational institutions with similar institutional subordination are already functioning successfully.

These include the Georgian Defence Academy, Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and, as you may well know, the Security Academy was also established. Taking into account this successful practice, we believe that the Diplomacy Academy of Georgia, with its institutional subordination, will also successfully fulfill its very important function.

I would like to thank Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the entire MOFA staff for shaping this well-developed concept. Starting from September next year, following the completion of the authorization process, the Diplomacy Academy will successfully begin operation. Our goal is to produce highly-qualified personnel for our diplomatic service, which is important to further strengthen our country`s foreign policy positions", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
