We decided to delay the implementation of regulations concerning the production, importation, and marketing of beverages in plastic bottles for a period of four years. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"As you are aware, plastic consumption poses risks to both human health and the environment. Significant steps have already been taken to curb plastic use, and this process will continue gradually. At the same time, we must consider various factors, including the interests of businesses and the potential impact of these regulations on consumer prices. We have engaged in active consultations with the business community.

I would like to thank the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture for their efforts. Following these discussions, we have agreed to postpone the enforcement of the regulation on the production, import, and marketing of beverages in plastic bottles until February 1, 2031", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
