Maintaining the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation between our countries significantly relies on continuing high-level meetings. Such a statement the President of Georgia made at the joint press briefing with his Slovak counterpart, Peter Pellegrini.

As Mikheil Kavelashvili noted, the meeting discussed concrete plans and priorities for the near future.

"Our discussions emphasized the growing importance of Georgia as a key hub in the Middle Corridor in the rapidly changing geopolitical environment.

My counterpart recognised this fully, understanding Georgia`s role in the South Caucasus. The Middle Corridor cannot be imagined without Georgia, and this was also acknowledged by my counterpart.

This represents a significant potential not only for our country but also for our neighboring states. The peaceful policies we pursue demonstrate that these opportunities are expanding, and more countries are taking an interest in the region. We discussed ways to further harness this potential and strengthen cooperation to maximize Georgia`s role in the Middle Corridor", - said Mikheil Kavelashvili.

He also welcomed the recent launch of direct flights between Kutaisi and Bratislava in January, 2026, highlighting that it will bring the peoples of both countries closer and increase tourist flows to Slovakia and Georgia alike.
