Members of Parliament attended the closing event of the “Future Leaders Forum of Shida Kartli”

Members of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee took part in the closing event of the “Future Leaders Forum of Shida Kartli”.

The event was held at Gori State University and was opened with welcome remarks by the Chair of the Committee, Mariam Lashkhi, First Deputy Chair Giorgi Chakvetadze, and Deputy Chair Giorgi Sosiashvili.

Participants were also addressed by the Rector of Gori State University, Aleksandre Mgebrishvili, Acting Head of the Youth Agency Vakhtang Baakashvili, Chair of the Gori Municipal Council Marlen Nadiradze, and Director of the organization “Zenasopeli” Davit Akhlouri.

Speakers emphasized the importance of youth policy, noting that education, development, and active participation of young people in decision-making processes are state priorities. The significance of similar projects for regional development was also highlighted.

The project was implemented by the organization “Zenasopeli” with funding from the Youth Agency. It lasted four months and involved young people aged 16 to 25 from the municipalities of Gori, Kaspi, Khashuri, and Kareli.

The initiative aimed to support the development of young people living in the Shida Kartli region, identify their leadership potential, and encourage their active engagement in civic and social processes.

At the conclusion of the event, participants were awarded certificates. The closing event was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive branches, local self-government officials, and participating youth.
