Applications for the IDP cash compensation program will be accepted from October 19

Ministry of Health has announced that applications for internally displaced persons (IDPs) wishing to participate in the monetary compensation scheme will open on 19 October and remain open until 2 November.

Public Service Halls nationwide will accept the IDPs’ applications. Participation in the new scheme is entirely voluntary and open to all IDP families who have not previously received housing or equivalent compensation from the state.

Monetary compensation will be issued in order of application submission, amounting to GEL 10,000 for each displaced family member.

For the current year’s budget, GEL 58 million has already been allocated for this scheme, with funding set to increase further in subsequent years.

Deputy Health Minister Giorgi Tsagareishvili and Agency Director David Kaikatsishvili reviewed the implementation procedures during a commission meeting at the IDP Agency.

All adult members of the household must be present when submitting the application. Once received, the IDP Agency’s relevant department will process the documentation in chronological order. The number of families receiving financial compensation will be determined in line with available budgetary resources.

The construction of modern residential complexes and the “House in the Countryside” purchase scheme continue at an active pace. Monetary compensation will be distributed concurrently and will not disrupt ongoing, successful programmes.
