The court found the defendant guilty of assisting draftees in evading military service, forging and using documents, and fraud committed by the group – PoG

The Tbilisi City Court reviewed the evidence presented by the Prosecutor`s Office and found one person guilty of assisting conscripts in evading military service, forging and using documents, fraud committed by a group with prior agreement, which caused significant damage, and illegal purchase and storage of ammunition.

The evidence examined during the trial confirmed that between 2024 and 2026, the accused, together with a group of people, promised to help conscripts and their family members avoid mandatory military service, in return for which he fraudulently received a total of 24,200 GEL from them.

The evidence examined in court also established that in 2024-2026, the accused, together with his accomplices, falsified documents by creating a false medical history. As a result, by simulating an illness and presenting false medical documentation, the Permanent Medical Expert Commission of the LEPL "G. Abramishvili Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense" exempted the conscript from compulsory military service.

The defendant also illegally purchased ammunition, which he illegally stored in his home.

The Tbilisi City Court found the defendant guilty under Article 180, Part 2, Subparagraph "b" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (fraud that caused significant damage - 6 episodes), Article 180, Part 2, Subparagraphs "a" and "b" (fraud that caused significant damage committed by a group with prior agreement), Article 19.180, Part 2, Subparagraphs "a" and "b" (attempted fraud that caused significant damage committed by a group with prior agreement), Article 19.180, Part 2, Subparagraph "b" (attempted fraud that caused significant damage), Article 25.356, Part 1 (assisting a conscript in evading military service by using a false document), Article 25.362, Part 1 (assistance in the production and use of a false document), Article 236, Part 3 (illegal acquisition and storage of military equipment), and the type and length of punishment was determined as 4 years of imprisonment.
