Prime Minister of Georgia expressed optimism about restoring the country`s strategic partnership with the US, highlighting an improvement in bilateral relations.
As he noted, said he had discussed the strategic partnership with both US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his visit to the UN.
"We remain optimistic regarding our strategic partnership with the US. We view events calmly, just as we did when facing attacks from the previous [US] administration.
We are also approaching the current processes calmly. Thank God, those attacks have ceased, and relations have essentially improved. We remain optimistic that the strategic partnership will be restored. The rest depends on the US administration. We discussed the strategic partnership during brief conversations with both Mr. Trump and Mr. Rubio. The key issue I focused on was precisely the restoration of the strategic partnership. I can only give you a general answer; I cannot go into details, as the communication was not public. The discussion centred on the need to continue our work", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
