Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia met Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) within the framework of the 11th Annual Meeting of the AIIB. She assumed the position in January of this year for a 5-year term.

From the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance.

During the introductory meeting, the parties discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the progress of AIIB-funded projects in Georgia and future plans.

The Minister of Finance of Georgia briefed the AIIB President on the country`s economic stance and medium-term forecasts, expressing gratitude for the Bank’s contribution to Georgia`s sustainable development.

Attention was focused on the progress and significance of infrastructure projects with international magnitude implemented in Georgia - both for the country itself and for the broader region - as well as cooperation toward the development of the capital market.

During the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation to support the country`s sustainable development. The Minister of Finance invited the AIIB President to visit Georgia.
