As part of its visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation of the Parliament of Georgia, led by Nino Tsilosani, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, met with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the deepening of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, including interparliamentary relations.

Nino Tsilosani emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and noted that regular high-level contacts between the Parliament of Georgia and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan constitute an important component of the relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation within parliamentary friendship groups, relevant committees, and international parliamentary formats.

The parties also discussed developments in the region and emphasized the importance of cooperation for peace, stability, and economic development in the South Caucasus.

Nino Tsilosani thanked the Speaker of the Milli Majlis for the active cooperation between the Parliaments of Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The delegation of the Parliament of Georgia also includes Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Economic Policy Committee; Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and a member of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Friendship Group; and Friendship Group members Anton Obolashvili, Savalan Mirzoyev, and Zaur Dargali.
