Mayor of Tbilisi said that it was regrettable that Georgian citizens were being used against the Georgian state, referring to Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili`s description of participants in the protests on Rustaveli Avenue as a "pseudo-religious sect".

As Kakha Kaladze noted, majority of the population could see that the protesters on Rustaveli Avenue were being directed by representatives of foreign countries in a manner contrary to Georgia’s interests.

"We see how the protests are being organised. We know who is behind all this. We may have different political views, but when representatives of a foreign country use you to advance their own interests against your homeland, that is very difficult.

The majority of the population clearly sees the challenges facing the world today. The majority of citizens stand where our country needs them to stand", - said the Mayor.
