As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, two persons were detained on the fact of storing, by a group upon prior agreement, a particularly large quantity of excisable goods subject to mandatory marking without excise marks.

As a result of investigative activities, 3,000 boxes of non-excise cigarettes of various brands were seized from the residential house of one of the accused. The total market value of the seized products amounts to GEL 19,200.

Investigation is underway under Subparagraph “g” of Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years
