The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance informs the public that the alarm system installed in the Devdoraki Valley has been activated. The high-precision system immediately sent an alert to the Kazbegi Customs Checkpoint.

To ensure safety, and in coordination with the relevant state agencies, all staff at the checkpoint have been moved to a safe area. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Patrol Police and Border Police who were on site, employees of various companies, as well as trucks and passenger cars and their drivers and passengers, have also been moved to safety.

All customs control procedures at the Kazbegi Customs Checkpoint have been suspended. As a result, customs procedures for goods entering or leaving Georgia, and for individuals crossing the state border through the checkpoint, cannot currently be carried out.

Once the risk subsides, the Kazbegi Customs Checkpoint will resume normal operations at full capacity, allowing passengers and cargo to pass through without disruption.
