Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During the meeting, the parties highlighted the friendly ties between the two countries and the positive dynamics of cooperation across various fields. They expressed hope that the Embassy of Serbia in Georgia would open in the near future, further contributing to the deepening of bilateral relations.

Particular attention was paid to the upward trend in bilateral trade. It was noted that an important step forward in this regard would be the conclusion of a free trade agreement (FTA), negotiations on which are already nearing completion. The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the President of Serbia for supporting Georgia’s European aspirations and underscored the particular importance of relations founded on mutual respect.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations David Bakradze.
