The Head of Government of Georgia congratulated his coountrrpart on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and wished the friendly Armenian people peace, stability and prosperity.

Irakli Kobakhidze also congratulated his Armenian counterpart on his election victory and expressed readiness to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting once again highlighted the successful cooperation between Georgia and Armenia across various fields and underscored the high-level political dialogue between the two countries, which has translated into tangible results in trade and economic cooperation, transport, as well as cultural and people-to-people ties.

The parties also discussed the situation in the region and reaffirmed their readiness to contribute to the fullest extent possible to peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations David Bakradze.
