The National Food Agency [NFA], within the framework of the Animal Health Protection Program, constantly conducts disease surveillance and laboratory research, including avian influenza.

"Recent testing confirmed zero cases of bird flu across Georgia… It should be noted that under current legislation, food business operators are legally required to notify the Agency immediately upon any suspicion or detection of an infectious disease, enabling the Agency to implement statutory control measures in coordination with the operator. At this stage, the NFA has received no notifications regarding any disease outbreak.

The NFA continues intensive monitoring and maintains active communication with representatives across the poultry sector", - says the agency.
