The General Director of the Special Penitentiary Service, Giorgi Pataridze, calls the information spread by the family of convict Giorgi Davitadze a lie and disinformation, regarding the alleged ill-treatment and dignity-violating behavior toward the convict by the staff of the 6th penitentiary facility.

Giorgi Pataridze emphasizes that the video footage related to the convict has been handed over to the investigation and has also been reviewed by the Ombudsman’s Office; meanwhile, no signs of crime have been identified on the part of the prison administration.

"Unfortunately, yesterday we heard very heavy allegations against the penitentiary service from the parents of convict Giorgi Davitadze, which, I want to emphasize, is a lie and a theater of the absurd", - said the General Director of the Special Penitentiary Service.
